How will Turkey reach its export target in 2023?

Added-Value per Kilogram Should Be Increased

Despite the decline in international trade growth, the economy of Turkey who managed 180 billion 468 million dollars of exports, accomplished to break the export record in the history of the Republic.

The data of 2019, where 17 thousand 544 domestic companies exported for the first time and the number of countries exported over one billion dollars reached 40, became another source of motivation for Turkish exporters in terms of reaching the 2023 targets in terms of economy.

In order to break new records in exports and to reach the 2023 export target of 226.6 billion dollars, besides increasing the export amount it is also important to increase the added-value per kilogram.
When we examine the exports per kg, Japan's is 4$, Germany’s is 3.7$, South Korea’s is 2.54$, on the other hand Turkey’s export range from 1.32$ to 1.37$.

How will the added-value increase in export?

When we look at the countries with high added-value in the field of export and strong economies, we usually see countries with advanced technology. Turkey is progressing rapidly in the field of technology in the last 20 years, but it is not easy to get a share from the international market. You should also have serious references besides the quality and cheapness.

Turkey also needs to focus on the services export as it deserves to take its share from the international economic market. Companies, which manage to export their solutions to abroad with their process knowledge, will contribute more to the growth in exports by gradually using their domestic technologies in these solutions.

If I have to put it more clearly, the companies that will be mostly needed in the future, will be those that will have full knowledge of the processes and will provide services with the right solutions.

When we wanted to move our work, which was made in Turkey, our first detection point was that our process knowledge was the one that moved us a step forward. We present our process knowledge and technological solutions compatible with the process, while many international companies introduce their products.

What should be the aim in the International Market?

The main purpose in the international market should not be selling technology. We should aim to sell our knowledge as a service which will heal the process and make it cheaper by using process knowledge. As technology transforms from being a purpose to a tool, customers focus on the result, not what is used.

Companies in Turkey have serious knowledge process in many sectors. If we can market this information correctly, it will be easier to reach the targets required in our exports and technology exports will grow.
